Senior Development Engineer

You will join the space research and development team with motivated people from different skill areas to develop equipment for satellite testing. We focus on the Electrical Ground Support Equipment. This includes power supplies that can simulate and test the satellite solar array, batteries or its power control and distribution units. Your main task will be the development of embedded software on different software and processor platforms.

This position has a pivotal role since it is the technical link between product development and projects. It requires deep understanding of our product to be able to support internal and external customers. The position is to work closely together with architects to implement their concepts and designs.

The department is hihgly international, with diverse age groups, we value the on-site precense but we work 50% remotely when possible.

Your responsibilities will cover:

• Design, implementation and testing of FW solutions on distributed systems with different computing architectures
• Development of application software in embedded Linux
• Integration of software components as well as development and implementation of integration tests
• Design and implementation of software components as well as their verification for use in embedded systems

Mandatory competences:

• High familiarity with C++.
• Experienced in embedded Linux.
• Experience with scripting languages (HTML, JavaScript).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills.

Beneficial know-how:

• Additional experience with real-time communication protocols (ETHERCAT, CAN, SPI).
• Previous experience in the power electronics domain is an advantage.

Professional Experience:

• Completed studies (University of Applied Sciences/Technical University) in the field of computer technology, electronics, SW development or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience as an embedded software developer.
• Previous experience in the aerospace or automotive industry is an advantage.

Soft Skills:

• Proactive, taking the initiative to solve problems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Miscellaneous:

• Working in AT Vienna, partial remote work possible (50%)
• Residents of AT, RO, CZ preferred / DE, NL, DK possible
